Of the ones you have listed I would probably arrange them something like this: Holmes Holyfield Lewis Tyson Holyfield and Lewis are movable in my opinion but Holmes and Tyson stay put.
From the choices listed above. Edit: Ah, I see what you are saying. Perhaps by the early 80's Holmes was fading - I've arranged them generally or maybe even over the past 30 years. I suppose Lennox or Holyfield would top the list otherwise.
Personally I would have Lennox just above Holmes anyway in a proper ATG list. But they are all very subjective. 1. Ali 2. Louis 3. Lewis 4. Holmes
NO!!!!! LEWIS WON FIRST ONE HANDS DOWN GOT TO ADMIT THE 2ND ONE FOR ME WAS CLOSE BUT STILL LEWIS WON!!!!! :thumbsup
Lennox was WBC Champ. Holmes had just lost to Holyfield and was 44 years old. Why the **** would Lennox fight him in 93? ******.
Exactly. And it's a measure of how UNDERRATED Evander is, and how OVERRATED Lennox Lewis is that this poll is so skewed. Holyfield beat two of of the other top four guys in his era (Tyson and Bowe) when it mattered, and you never saw him getting taken out in the early rounds by second-raters when he held the title. Heck, he was never taken out early at ALL! Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield is, hands down, the greatest HW since Holmes.
The only problem with this is that it's the answer to a different question than asked. yes Tyson was the most popular heavy over the last 25 years, hell he's the most popular fighter since Ali, but he's not the greatest, if greatest is defined in terms of accomplishments, which to most of us it is.
