It's gotta be Oleksandr Usyk. As great as Duran is, I can't see how Usyk could have ever lost to a Kirkland Laing level of opponent.
Look buddy, I don’t really care about your opinion tbh, keep that **** to yourself. You're the only presuming with all of these random accusations. Roy Jones got caught when he was 31 years of age at LHW with the performance enhancing drug androstenedione in his system, a testosterone precursor which helped him build muscle mass while moving up the weight classes. If you want to get technical, this is what androstenedione does... Use as a Supplement and Regulation Androstenedione gained significant popularity as a performance-enhancing supplement in the late 1990s, promoted for increasing muscle mass, strength, and energy. However, scientific evidence largely did not support these claims for men, finding that supplementation often increased estrogen levels instead of testosterone in men. Due to safety concerns and a lack of proven benefits, the United States passed the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 2004, which reclassified androstenedione as a Schedule III controlled substance. Its sale as an over-the-counter supplement is now banned in the U.S. and by major sports organizations like the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the NCAA. This is Roy Jones as a teenager winning the Val Barker trophy at the Olympics with strict drug testing, same style he would use throughout his entire career. This content is protected Now, everyone already knows about Mayweathers banned intravenous (IV) infusion before his 2015 fight against Manny Pacquiao or him literally having USADA in his back pockets. Everyone also knows about Pacquaio working extensively with Victor Conte(known and caught doping chemist) and his famous "shakes". I mean, Manny Pacquaio and his team legit denied random drug testing before the 4th Marquez fight after accusing Marquez of doping himself. After Marquez took their bait and claimed he'd do the same random drug tests if Pacquaio takes it, Roach said naw we cool, let's just fight anyway. Let's just hate on Roy Jones Jr. though, just because.
No question Roy Jones is the most dynamic fighter on film and that had nothing to do with PED’s and these guys know it.
He didn’t lose at 135. He best Marcel below 135 though which is pretty good. I don’t think Roy did anything at 154 really?
The Kirkland Laing fight was longer into Durans pro career than the full duration of Usyks pro career up to this point. Duran would go on to fight at world level for another decade and some change.
I don’t think Usyk belongs in the top ten of greatest living fighters. You have to hand it to him being old and dominating heavyweight, but he’s not exactly the midget he’s made out to be, and his opposition has been an old Cocaine and cheeseburgers Fury and big stiff Joshua. We never got to see him against another great heavy, that not his fault, but it’s hard to rank him too high based off his opposition.
As long as Duran is alive, he'll always be higher than those two. But I see you jumped on the Usyk bandwagon as well. In a few years, IF you are still in to boxing, and Usyk is retired, which undefeated boxers you will bandwagon with then?
Duran at Brit Level Lost to Laing Could only beat Ken B on an illegal savage nut shot Could only beat Jimmy Batten on points who was KO'd in a round by a 16-10-1 scrub earlier that year Could only beat Dave Radford on points who was KO'd in a round in his next fight by a 6-2-2 domestic level I could be wrong but Duran has never stopped a Brit on a legal shot and he should be 2-2 (0 KOs) at Brit Level And he did a quit vs Sugar Leonard who was Brit Level Usyk is the King of Britain
Dude, I mess with my friends like that. We all jokingly talk smack to each other. But I won't deny, there's something about loving undefeated fighters from the ol PBC/lion's den groupies. No one rates Floyd higher than Duran in an ATG sense. Same with Usyk. And with Duran still being alive.... you know what I'm saying.
