Not head-to-head, in terms of accomplishments: Who is the greatest living featherweight?

(Do me a favor and discount Eusebio Pedroza.)

I guess it'd be between Nelson and Marcel. Why are we discounting Pedroza, though?

Pedroza is a good shout. Hardly ever see his name pop up on this forum. What a dirty ******* he was btw. Did you know Barrera studied some of his tricks.

Zoom Zoom is the answer to the question though.

Duran, contrary to reality and, indeed, the title of this thread, deserves a mention.

Probabily the best bantam of all time, but picking him as a feather is a bit like ranking Ray Leonard as a super middle.

Combine accomplishments and HTH its definetly Pedroza... But HTH it could be a number of guys Pac,Azumah,Fenech,Barrera,Morales,Marquez, and probably an older but still great Jofre.

    I don't think that's a valid comparison at all.

I'm only looking at the "linear" champions. Pedroza didn't make it, surprisingly enough. Neither did Azumah or Marquez or Fenech or LaPorte. Just another way the sanctioning bodies have defecated on boxing.

I see how you could argue that. I used to rank Duran as the greatest lightweight ever based on large part, subconsciously I guess, on what he did afterwards. To take him purely on the merits of his lightweight reign, however, forced me a few years ago to concede the crown to Benny Leonard -even though I rank Duran over him, p4p.
