    Bernard Hopkins?
    Harold Johnson?
Joe Frazier? (he counts, even if he was brought up in S.C., Philly is where he learned to box and started his career)

He may not of been the best, but Bennie Briscoe was the stereotype for which you judged all Philly fighters.

Ask the average person on the street to name a sports champion from Philly, and the most frequently correct answer would be Smokin' Joe Frazier.

For us fight fans, it could just as easily be Bad Bennie Brisco.

Joey Giardello might also be mentioned.

If only a Philadelphia native will do, Matthew Saad Muhammad might fit the bill.

    1. Joe Frazier
    2. Tommy Loughran
    3. Bernard Hopkins

You could make a case for either of them being number 1

Joe Frazier was my favorite but Benny Briscoe was up there he got no special favors but was a tough SOB, O'Brien, Loughran, Hopkins...I also loved the triple left hook of Eugene"Cyclone"Hart, I know I'm missing quite a few
