Who cares.... He also beat Tarver first, after dropping from Heavyweight in his very next fight. Only true all time greats have ever done that.

Chavez would probably walk pacquiao down and stop him mid to late rounds....While whitaker was toying with chavez at times...

Head-to-Head, Prime Whitaker would win a 11-1, shutout type fight....

A faded Whitaker couldn't get stopped by a power-puncher in tito, so I don't see how Pacquiao would stop Pernell....A more technically sound fighter in de la hoya struggled with whitaker....When you break down the talent and the head-to-head matchup I don't see how you can say Pacquiao is better more talented southpaw then Sweet Pea...

You can make an argument for most accomplished southpaw...

being greater has more weight on accomplishment
being better has more emphasis on overall ability

I don't think so. Hector was great at 130, and his talent was great, but wins against greats are what make a guy the best, and Hector lacks there and Hagler and Pacman and Whitaker excelled at the top level.

You guys are crazy. Pacquiao is the greatest left handed fighter in history. What he is doing now is outrageous and that people no longer consider how amazing it is, is just testament to his achievements.

When he beat De La Hoya people thought the fight was a farce he had such little chance. Most thought the same when he beat Hatton. The majority had him on level terms with Cotto, in spite of him being a natural 130 pounder. Understand that as a built up lightweight he is considered on par with an arguably undefeated top tier WW.

That all of his victories has been discredited (DLH was a shell, Hatton was overrated, Cotto was shot, Clottey was a *****) furthers his achievements because he beat them so convincingly that he made them look like nothing. As a huge Cotto fan, I can comfortably say that Cotto has never come into a fight in better shape than he did against Pacquiao. And he was nowhere even near Pac's level.

And of course, all of these achievements are just icing on the top of an already ATG level cake when you consider what he did to Marquez, MAB and Morales. That's a whole other proposition.

Stop hating on this guy. It is getting real, real old, and unlike Mayweather he does nothing to encourage it.

    Laughable.

Not exactly sure what Tito has to do with Pacquiao. Whitaker might pull out a W against Pac but never a 11-1 shut out. You're talking about how Whitaker never lost to Torrecampo but I'm pretty sure Pac as a pro never had trouble with zab judah as an amateur. Pull your head out of your ass.

He's definitely not the greatest, but one of the most underrated Southpaws is Michael Moorer at LHW.

Whitaker would school Pac, that's all that needs to be said.

When Whitaker was fighting, 190 was the cruiserweight limit (when it was recognized at all), so that probably works out a little better. That's about 40% which is about the same.
