Who is the higher ranked ATG James Toney or Joe Calzaghe?

    The undefeated papa. If Joe was puerto rican and had our boricua power he couldve been a top 20 ATG.

    Toney may have faced better opposition, but did he beat them?

    Not many really big wins on that record!

    Best win? McCallum?

    McCallum is Toney's most notable win.

    However Toney does have other decent wins including an undefeated Nunn, Barkley, DeWitt, Jirov and Williams.

    Furthermore fighters such as Reggie Johnson, Rydell Booker and a faded Holyfield are also arguably better than almost any of the opposition Calzaghe faced. There may also be a few more if you check.

    No disrespect to Calzaghe, he was decent enough, but with the exception of Kessler and maybe one or two others his resume is very poor.

    Bernard hopkins might be old, but after Joe beat him. Then he went on to school Pavlik and Pascal twice, Kessler who beat Carl Froch. Which i ranked higher than ward before the Super six final. Toney did use steroids, which in my opinion hurts his reputation
