Interesting in an article jones says toney was the higest skilled fighter he has fought so what do you guys think LIGHTS OUT or THE EXECUTIONER?
Very close one. Both guys are defeinsive masters in their own way. I think it goes to the offense where Toney gets the edge by a little bit, which gives him the thin edge in skill. Thats just my opinion, but I think its arguable.
Hopkins. More versatile, much superior footwork, ring generalship, and outside fighting. The Toney that Roy fought was a more skilled fighter than the Hopkins Roy fought as Bernard had not reached his prime.
I would probably pick Hopkins, but its close. I think RJ picked Toney because Hopkins wasn't as skilled as he is now when Jones faught him.
Toney's defensive style holds a very high novelty value so he comes off well with the fans but he is limited when compared with Hopkins. Hopkins is my pick.
i hear what some of you guys are saying and i would pick hopkins, because i feel he has grown a great deal in all area's of his game with age toney one of the slickest fighters around, his shoulder rolls and sneaky quick punches are amazing but i think BHOP has surpassed toney in alot of area footwork, accuracy, hand eye coordination, ring generalship, fitness(lol) even defensivly because he is so hard to hit clean as we have seen in the tarver fight, winky fight, joe c fight and pavlik fight
Yeah that. Hopkins can adjust to more styles than Toney. Although Toney is slightly superior on the inside and his defense in close quarters is legendary. But overall, Hopkins.
The Hopkins that fought Jones wasnt quite the technical and defensive master he has become. So Jones may be right there, that version of Toney was the most skilled fighter he had fought.
Plus it further doesn't help Hopkins since Jones don't really like him. Anyway. Hopkins is the more skilled fighter IMO. They both have certain advantages over each other, but B-Hop just has more in his game than Toney. He's more well-rounded IMO.
