Joe Louis would have killed Roy..as soon as he made contact..and he would make contact, because as the Brown Bomber said himself.."they can run but they can't hide".
I'll be sporting though and say that Jones may have had a chance against Tommy Burns...maybe. Even the glass chinned Ingemar Johannson would have been a seriously dangerous prospect for Jones..one shot of "Toonder" and Jones is dead. Floyd patterson would have been a complete disater for Roy...who i think was a great fighter, don't misunderstand me..I'm not denying him, but he dosen't have a prayer against the heavyweights...though a Leon Spinks fight would have been interesting/

Well, in that case Dempsey and Marciano would absolutely muller him.
He can't afford to take a flush punch here.

I wouldnt be surprised if RJJ beat a few of the guys in the top 10. He was that fast and hard to hit.

Jones is far more elusive than Patterson/Shavers and all those others are C Class anyway. Not sure why you keep thinking Quarry is a massive puncher :huh

Jones is also much more elusive than Conn and he hit harder, he probably hit as hard as Schmelling/Walcott, both put Louis down, Schmelling KO'd Louis, Conn outboxed him for rounds, Walcott outboxed and countered him silly for rounds in their first fight. Both men were stopped multiple times, yet all had plenty of success against Louis

How many times was Jones KO'd or KD'd for that matter before the age of 35 against the 20 or so world champions he faced? Never ko'd and only put down once until the age of 35

Possibly an unmotivated Page, or Tubbs.Especially Tubbs, who was somewhat feather fisted.

Tyson would rip him apart, damage him, and I wouldn't have Tyson as high as others would

Does anyone rate jones against old Foreman or maybe even younf foreman?

He would certainly move and outland him.

The young george Foreman would have killed Jones. I'm not sure about Grill Salesman Foreman.
