I'm talking about frames and what weight class guys fight in, not their heights.

Hagler was a shorter guy than Diego Corrales, but Chico was not the bigger guy.

It started with his very first World title fight.
Jimmy Bredahl- DLH drops and picks on an unknown for a bogus Jr. lightwight title.

Jorge Paez- DLH makes Paez come up to 135 lbs. Paez never won a title past 130 lbs.

Genaro Hernandez- DLH makes Hernandez go up to 135. Hernandez Never won a title past 130 lbs.

Jesse James Leija- Up to 135 lbs, never won a title past 130 lbs.

David Kamau- was a contender at 140 lbs, DLH fights him at 147 lbs.

JC CHavez- Ex-Champion at 140, DLh makes Chavez come to him at 147 lbs if he wanted a rematch. Chavez never won a title past 140 lbs.

Hector Camacho- fight is at 147 lbs. Camacho never won a title past 140 lbs.

Arturo Gatti- Fight at 147 lbs, Gatti never was a top contender past the 140 lbs weight class.

.......and people who rate him highly say, he's beaten so many world champions.....
Well there you have it, a bunch of world champions moving up to face DLH, and just about all of them had seen their better days.....

I think that makes DLH the king of picking on smaller fighters!:deal

De La Hoya also fought guys moving up such as John Molina, Floyd Mayweather, and Shane Mosley (both times DLH had been fighting at the weight for 2-3 years while Shane was new at the weight class).

On the other hand, De La Hoya has moved up through different division and fought some bigger guys as well.

I was doing some boxrecing and this is what I came up with for Rocky Graziano.

    http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...9016&cat=boxer

TKO 2 Bernie Miller, Rocky outweighed him 154 to 145.5

TKO 4 Bummy Davis, Rocky outweighed him 151.75 to 146 (not really that much by that era's standards)

Two 10th round stoppages of Red Cochrane, considered to be his best KOs according to The Ring's Top 100 Punchers Issue. Rocky outweighed him 153 to 142.75 and 154 to 145.

TKO 2 of Marty Servo, Rocky outweighed Servo 152 to 144.5

KO 2 of Bobby Claus, Rocky outweighed Bobby 159.75 to 149.

TKO 10 of Charley Fusari, Rocky outweighed him 159.5 to 147.5

KO 1 of Joe Curcio, Rocky weighed 162.25 and Joe was 153.5

Draw with Tony Janiro, Rocky weighed 159.75 and Tony 152.75. He beat Janior later 2x, with 4.5 and 6 pounds on him in each bout.

In many of those instances the fighters went right back down the weight class they had come from.
DLH just enticing them to move up for a payday really so that DLH can claim another ex-champion on his resume!

To have a couple of these fights is fine and dandy, but DLH made a career out of beating the smaller fighte.
I would'nt make such a big deal about the issue had DLH had beaten the legit great fighters in their prime fighting in their own weight class.

.....but the fact remains that DLH does'nt have such a victory!

    Absolutely, I missed John Molina.....

At the very least, Mosely and Mayweather were fighters who were in thier prime, unlike those that I mentioned earlier.

That is true, but it should also be noted that Hopkins was a LOT bigger than him (he's a lightheavyweight now and could've been back then). Vargas was also a lot bigger as well as Felix Sturm, who has always been a middleweight.

What's more, Hopkins, Vargas and Sturm are a lot better as fighters than most of the names you mention (Paez, Leija, Kamau, Gatti, Bredahl, Hernandez).
So you can't really say he took no risks.

Lamoota was short not small he was anatural Light heavy who had to boil down ,Fullmer is one of the strongest middleweights ever, add Turpin a very big middle ,take a look at his body!,Plus Ray boxed the ears off ofthe reigning Light Heavy Champ, and tried to get a fight withArchie Moore,I dont think your argument holds water.

I'm not saying DLH did'nt face great fighters, I am saying he did'nt beat any of them......Vargas was considered by most ring experts as damaged good when DLH took him on!
