John C. Heenan - Has no record of ever winning a fight.

    End of thread.

Whoever the "worst" is right now in the HOF I don't venture to say, but whenever Hatton gets elected he'll be the worst. The Brits like their worst fighters like Hatton and Bruno the best it seems.

If Hatton makes it, that will more or less confirm what Duodenum and TBooze are saying. Not that it really needs confirmation at this stage. I don't even take it seriously.

The induction weekends are a blast, just be prepared for certain events to be postponed because a fighter was out too late or doesn't feel like giving the Q & A at the time.

The trouble is boxing hall of fame is very liberal minded in terms of who gets in. Popularity tends to matter. Some great fighters from Asia are hardly seen by the voters.

I do think Hatton beat some top level fighters. Hatton would not be the worst guy in the hall of fame.

I think Arturo Gatti will be the worst fighter elected in the next decade.

If this conversation happens in the future, i will definately be there saying Joe Calzaghe .. For some reason i cant stand that guy, i think hes an inaccurate boxer who wins fights by running forward throwing 200 punches per round, missing 197. That is not great boxing imo .. I know i might be in the minority but watching Calzaghe fight is not a memorable or pleasurable experience ..

(obviously though he will be in the HOF, and i suppose deservedly so but i would rather watch Butterbean ply his trade)

Thats harsh man, Gatti wasnt a great fighter but surely everyone enjoyed those Gatti tear ups ??

    v Robinson
    v Ward 1,2,3
    v Ruelas

He deserves to be in there because he entertained the boxing world and showed some tremendous heart, he gave the fans a real fight and got everyone up on they're feet .. I think he deserves to be there, his fights will live long in the memory.

exciting fights alone do not a great fighter make.

arturo gatti is far below the class of the men in the hall of fame. his induction will drop the standards.

Muhammad Ali , Ken Norton , Terry Norris , Joe Louis , Max Schmelling , Max Baer , most probably i forgot / still don't know about more .
However , d better Marlon Starling , Simon Brown , Juan LaPorte , Jorge Lujan r deliberately excluded .

I could give a few maffia entertainers but what's d use ? probably d vast majority of their fights that mattered were fixed . In d old days it was actually a worse circus act than 2day .

Ken Norton IMO is not a Hall of Famer.
