THE WBA BELT IS THE TRUE LINEAL BELT THAT DEMPSEY WON

WLAD IS THE LINEAL WBA CHAMPION

WLAD IS THE LINEAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD.

Interesting hypothesis. Ignoring that Tunney retired..I'll use Lennox Lewis That would make it... Lewis last loss after being champ is to Rahman; so it goes back to Rahman. Rahman loses to Holyfield, he loses to Byrd, he loses to Wlad, he loses to Sanders, he loses to Vitali Klitschko. Now here's a problem...Vitali retired, but came back. So does he keep it, or does it go to the last guy to beat him. In this case that guy is Lewis...big unending loop! So that idea does not really work. Thus the championship is vacant until the the best guys fight each other, but they can't because they promised their mommy no to.

I recognise him as the top fighter in the division but I don't recognise him as lineal. Put it this way, if somebody beats Wlad and then Vitali I'll consider him lineal, if somebody beats just one of them I won't, until that happens or one of them retires I don't consider there to be a lineal champion since the two top fighters won't fight each other (which is understandable, I wouldn't fight any of my brothers either...well not sober anyway)

I would imagine it is returned to him.
Like an open circuit, the title is vacant until his return which closes it again.

I would disagree. Vitali really doesn't have much claim to the lineal title after retiring for 4 years and only beating the #2.

For instance if this Chisorawho character came out of nowhere to beat Wlad..I think he would have to be recognized as the legit Champ. Vitali and Haye would still be the next two on the rung.

Yep and then Wlad beat Chagaev. WBA doesn´t recognize it as a title fight, nevertheless Wlad beat the WBA champ.

Wlad is lineal champ since he beat Chagaev. However Vitali being around and having the WBC belt makes it cloudy, since he's the one guy that could potentially beat Wlad who isn't ducking him.

There is no linear heavyweight champion until someone unifies the three belts.

Point is neither of them has a claim. I just don't agree with crowning a guy as the first champion of a new lineage when he won't fight the guy who's obviously the best opponent in the division.
