    I would rate as follows:

    1. Mosley
    2. Cotto
    3. Margarito
    4. Clottey

I am assuming that Mayweather is actually retired. If he comes back, I would rank him either 2 or 3.

I'm also assuming that Pac's fight with Oscar at 147 was a one-and-done at welter, and that he is returning to 140 or 135.

I'm not sure where Paul Williams actual weight class is these days. If we assume 147, then I would slot him in at number 3 between Cotto and Margarito.

No disrespect to Mosley. He was awesome and embodies everything I love in a fighter. I just think Williams would beat any fighter in the division and would give Floyd problems should he return.

PW is not a ww anymore IMO....if PBF is retired than PW is not in the mix either...i think PBF beats him easy though

It all relies on the Cotto fight for Margo. If cotto beats him he will become high risk low reward and will always be out on the periphery. Its going to be interesting how he performs against Cotto without those breeze block gloves.

Come on..... moving between weights will never be a problem. Trouble is no one will touch him.

Yeah id go with Floyd too. Id have it a bit closer though.

I don't know about that. His lack of punching power @ 147 scares me. Hatton fought one fight @ 47 and almost lost B4 Floyd got a hold of him. Floyd knew 7 lbs extra on Hatton was just too much. If they would have fought @ 140 then I would give it much more credibiility. Again his punching power @ 47 is non-existence and it would pose a problem with him against almost every1 in that division right now.

Oh yeah to answer your question I would put Williams as the man still with Mosley second prob second and Mayweather(even though he hasn't done nothing in the division) a close third.

Exactly. And Mosely would knock Cotto out again if they had a rematch. Cotto's chin is suspect at best.

I got to say something. Mosley did not beat Miguel Cotto!!!!! Some of you Mosley fans need to lay-off!!! Go rewatch the fight please!!!!

SSM is a class warrior, a legend, but even he himself said after the fight that Cotto deserved to win.

As for the topic at hand, nobody is the man at welter, they have to start all over again= great fights in 09!!!

I know it's my second post, but I have been reading this board for a while now. Quality place to talk about the greatest sport on Earth (after soccer off-course).
