Who is the man at 147?

That fight could have gone either way.

I had Cotto going into the fight even put a couple dollars on him.

By the time the bell sounded I thought I was gonna be handing my change over.

Whoever gets the 4 belts (WBC,IBF,WBA,WBO) is the man in the division.

 

cotto. they already fought each other and cotto prevailed.

and there is also the question of the legitimacy of cotto's loss with this plaster handwrap controversy.

to this day i've watched that fight over 38677736835 times and Cotto wins it everytime...and quite honestly, its a convincing win - he beat Mosley to the punch all night.

i think you're the type of fan who judges fights based on aggressiveness which is what Mosley was doing, being aggressive but Cotto lands the cleaner punches.


however, Mosley is the man right now...a rematch is in order though...i would've loved to have seen Mosley/Cotto II instead of big ass headed Clottey vs. Cotto.

Yea it doesn't mean as much say a win over Williams at 47 but it certainly stands up to a Jennings or Gomez at 47

 

No, it's not. You saying we should give credit to Mosley's claim to being 'the man' at 147 because he beat Mayorga at a higher weight class....

I am NOT saying we should take away credit from Mosley for doing that, which is what you're suggesting that I'm suggesting, I'm saying it's not relevant.

Pacquaio beating De La Hoya at 147, doesn't make Pacquaio a better Featherweight, so why would Mosley beating Mayorga at 154 make him a better Welterweight?

 

It could have easily went 7-5 Cotto. No problem with that.

But I feel some people think it was a dominant performance or Cotto showed he was the better man.

Cotto was strong through the middle rounds.

I think around the 7th I was actually thinking Cotto could take Mosley out.

But Mosley got a secong wind and came back strong.

Cotto stamina is his biggest problem.

 

The answer is either Mosley or no one. Any other answer is absurd.

 

i dont think he was gassed like people say...he knows Mosley aint gonna get knocked out and he knows Mosley hits hard as **** so i guess he decided to play it safe (kind of wat Oscar tried doing against Trinidad). Cotto however was countering Mosley while playing it safe and didnt look tired at all. ure right though, it was a close fight, so close that the rematch HAS to take place. :deal

 

In the end you're right! I can't really argue when the fights weren't at welter.

They are certainly good wins.

The Cotto Marg and Collazo fights are more than any current has done.

Overall his recent accomplishments are greater than the other guys also.

It could be . The fight was great seeing two guys on that skill level trying to outwill the other.
