Funny thing about PBF fans their he beat Baldomir for the lineal title logic. On espn when Brian Kinney was ripping into Floyds ass about fighting Judah instead of Baldomir, Floyd stated that Baldomir wasnt the real champion and Judah just had a bad night. Then he beats Baldomir and suddenly it has so much meaning.

The man basically admitted before he fought him that he was a nobody. The lineal title doesnt mean **** when you have to beat a tomato can to get it. But thats fine, if you want to give Mayweather credit for that win and deem him the man at the time, thats fine. He retired, gave up that title and hasnt fought a welterweight since. So until he does, hes not longer in the discussion.

If Pac stays in the division, fights a few more fights with no catchweights, he could possibly be considered in the argument, but not for number 1 until he beats Mosley or if Mayweather fights and beats Mosley then Pac beats Mayweather.

Until then, Mosley is still the guy to beat.

Despite what your opinion is on Baldomir...He earned it the hard way by taking the belts from the champ...Nobody is here boasting Baldimir like he's the best WW champ...but he did earn his titles the hard way...Beating the champ!

Pac has only had one fight at welter against de la hoya. The fight at cotto was at a catchweight, while still within the welterweight limit, there was still a stipulation that Cotto could not weigh in at the maximum allowed for the weight. So no, Pac cant even be held in consideration. It makes more sense for Floyd to be considered then it does for Pac.

Even though I dont think either of them should be in the discussion at this point.

i disagree. floyd had not fought a real welter in his last 3 fights and couple that with almost 2 years of retirement. so you think beating jmm at catchweight of 144 is better than pac beating cotto at 145?

Nah it doesn't work like that.... Shane has been calling out Pac and Floyd and just about everyone at the weight, just because no one wants to fight him, shouldn't negate him as the champ at WW, which he is.

Its not even debatable in my opinion... Until Mosley is beaten, which is certainly possible, he is the man at WW. Neither Pac or PBF even can be considered, Floyd retired, he has to come back and take it, it doesn't just automatically go back to him. Pac makes people weigh in at a catchweight, which clearly the "man" at WW would not need.

No, but being the former linear champion who relinquished it when he retired undefeated holds a bit more weight than beating Cotto.

Im not taking anything away from Baldomir, he earned it, youre right. But come on, lets call a spade a spade. If a bum off the street was hired to face zab judah, landed a lucky punch, knocked him out, then Floyd beat the bum...does that really make Floyd the man? Does the lineal championship really mean that much when its held by the weakest champion in the division?
