Very true. Before the Hopkins fight this would have been a poll in favour of Pavlik. When I tried to debate this with Pavlik fans and explained why someone like Kessler would win, the usual "euro bum" and "euro upright" crap came out and they all said Pavlik would KO Kessler and Calzaghe easily.

People even tried to argue that Pavlik had the better resume than Kessler.

    Talk about fair weather fans.

For christsakes Strike try not to be so hateful and biased
Kessler is the more complete fighter. I feel that Kessler is fully developed unlike Pavlik. Stylistically they share some qualities but Kessler is certainly more polished but I do think Pavlik is more versatile

Could you imagine the beat down calzaghe would of give pavlik, i honestly think it would of been a rerun of the jeff lacy fight :yep If hopkins is to fast for him imagine calzaghe :good

p.s if you go back and look at previous threads ive always said kessler beats him :deal I don't know why european fighters get hated on and so underated yet, an american fighter wins a couple of fights and he is GOD.

Seriously ok he beat taylor the same taylor that got a gift against the smaller wright, and was lucky against cory spinks ffs :yep

Are you trying to get a rise out of Pavlik fans? Whats your agenda?
Kelly is certainly no god. A good fighter yes. He's not fully developed as a fighter yet but no need for such hating. That silly ass if hopkins beat em imagine what Joe would do **** is a sure sign you are either new to the sport or just plain ignorant

It will be good to see how he performs against Taylor.

"I watched the guy with the tattoo's (Mikkel Kessler) when I was in Las Vegas in April, and he's ordinary."

"He can't fight going back or counter punch."

"If you consciously know range and angles you shouldn't have a problem with this guy."

No hating on pavlik he is a good fighter and i don't hate on him and please show me where i have. He got so badly overrated on this forum and others just like Lacy then the chickens come home to roost.

If you want to talk about hating, look what gets wrote about calzaghe everyday at least 10 threads a day about him, always the same old bollox :patsch

I have just told the truth, calzaghe would of battered him if they had of fought and that is my oppinion same as ive always said kessler would beat him. The fact of the matter is since he got schooled by bhop, everyone seems to have jumped off the band waggon a bit and thats a fact.

In this genral forum nearly all brit fighters and some euro fighters get hated on non stop. Look at countless threads on Hatton, calzaghe and all this kessler is a euro bum (mainly to discount calzaghes win and resume).

Seriously show me one of my posts where ive hated on any fighter :good

I think his guard is tighter. The proof is in the pudding really, Kessler is hit less by comparable opposition, and hasn't been down whereas Palvik has been down numerous times. Kessler is more cautious too, its obvious he is thinking more about defence.

Just curious TFFP what comparable opposition has Kessler fought?
    Pavliks notable fights:
    Miranda
    Taylor(twice)
    Hopkins

    Andrade > Miranda
    Calzaghe > Hopkins
Mundine > Taylor (ok maybe not, but not too far off)

The important thing here is Kessler dominated all his competition except Calzaghe. Pavlik didn't.

More like Andrade=Miranda(at the time of the fights, probably not now)
    Calzaghe>Hopkins
    Mundine<Taylor(and by alot)

    Pretty comparable then...right?

Not to mention Kessler has dominated former champs like Beyer and Lucas.

Pavlik has been down to the likes of Zuniga and McKart. His defence is not good, even against this opposition. Kessler has never been down, and rarely hit against Andrade, Mundine, Beyer...very comparable. I don't even think he was hit as much by Calzaghe as Pavlik was Taylor.
