Who Is The More Complete Fighter - Pavlik Or Margarito?

Margarito. He has a great uppercut, great body attack, and a great chin. Pavlik only has a better 1,2 than Margarito.

 

Pavlik. It takes the best LHW in the world to school him. Margarito gets beat by PW, Cotto was embarrassing him like Hopkins was Pavlik the first half of that fight, and lost to Santos. Margarito is the most overrated fighter in the world right now. He is not top 10 p4p.

 

Pavlik clearly. Pavlik can box well, along with being very good inside.
Margarito epitomises the one dimensional plodder. This isn't a bad thing as he does it extremely well. Margo knows one way and one way only and thats full speed ahead.
Just a side note, it seems as though Pavlik has become a headhunter since winning the title from Taylor. He used to mix his punches up extremely well, now it seems as though he's forgotten the body. Anyone else notice this?

 

Yea I hope he corrects this soon. As for Jack, I think he had an off nite like Kelly did, that **** happens

I am not trying to attack your comment, but this is a simple question. Do you think Cotto is over rated too? What about PW?

 

Pavlik is more complete and at least capable of outboxing people a range -- Margarito is a pure specialist.

For instance -- Pavlik won against Miranda because of consistent work and heart, sure, but also because of more solid fundamentals.

I tend to find specialists more imposing (all other things being equal, which is not the case here), and believe Margarito has more potential than Pavlik does even though Pavlik is more impressive atm.

In my view, Pavlik's main weakness is his coordination, both hands and feet, and that's not easily remedied. Margarito has come this far because of tools at his disposal (stamina, chin, decent punch) and can still improve a ton working his way inside as well as pressuring more intelligently.

 

I honestly don't know. Neither is anything close to complete, its a much of a muchness really.
