Overall Margarito

 

Neither is a "complete" fighter. Margarito is a bit closer to that than Pavlik, because he can mix up his punches, throw from different angles, go to the body as well as the head and his in-fighting is way better than Kelly's.

 

Definately Margarito. Margo is more experienced and has fought against more styles than Pavlik. Despite the multitude of styles he's faced, Margo has never been blown out like Pavlik was. Sure, Hopkins is better than anyone Margo faced. However, he's damn near 44 and was as high as a 4-1 underdog in that fight. Once a fighter is able to limit that right hand, Pavlik has no plan B. Hopkins destroyed him and I thought Taylor beat him in their second fight by simply timing Pavlik's double jab, right hand combo and countering.

Margarito is more aware of his limitations and is able to adjust accordingly during his fights. Margo's offense isn't as predictable, his chin is much better, and he actually works the body.

Pavlik is the more complete fighter.

 

He didn't adjust he was doing the same **** he was doing in round one it was just Cotto ran out of gas and was starting to take punishment and Margo was then able to finish him off. Margo is as one-dimensional as you can get. No shame in Pavlik being given a boxing lessson by an ATG fighting at a weight he had never been at before. Margo beat a smaller man who couldn't stand up to his attack for 12 rounds despite giving him a boxing lesson for the first half. Kelly is more complete easily. I actually can't believe this is even up for debate.

Marg was blessed with an ATG chin. You downgrade his chin to a normal level and he probably gets KOed by Cotto.

 

ATG chin because he's facing guys he dwarfs in the ring. Let's see him take shots from guys his own size at 154 or 160 then we'll see how great it really is. BTW there are no big one shot KO guys at 147 at the moment guys with real power like Tito or Hearns for example.
