from when I started boxing at school in the early 70s I have loved reading about fighters and now with the internet, more stories are available.
from the early days of John L Sullivan and before up till present fighters.
who has grabbed your imagination most ??

Ali had to be the most charismatic. At one time his was the most recognized face in the world.

Liston, leading up to the Clay/Ali fights, had the largest aura of invincibility, in my memory.
The general consensus was that he simply couldn't be beaten.

I.couldn't argue with that scores of other fighters have intrigued me.
The likes of bummy davis, Jerry Quarry, lew jenkins, tony galento, jack kid berg, the finnegan brothers etc etc.

Obviously Ali springs to mind first, but Tex Cobb's " observations " are entertaining to say the least.

Honestly, I think it is Dempsey,

    Ali won his spurs,

Dempsey is there as an ATG because of total charisma
