    How edited was the "I just turned 22 years old" rant after the first Liston fight? Or the regrettable (though now some would smile nostalgically at it) Mike Douglas episode with Frazier? That and a million other such little nuggets we got with Ali were simply not done in Dempsey's time.

    Those sorts of up close and personal looks into athletes simply didn't exist in Dempsey's era, nor Louis's for that matter. It's not even similar. Did Ali play stuff up for the sake of the camera? Absolutely. How does that disprove my theory?
