    I havta go along with Burley, A53. Great call! But, God, he was dull dull dull, like admiring a Rembrandt, not a thrilling fighter.

    Saw Burley at the tail-end of his career in Pittsburgh crucify Buddy Hodnet, who didn't deserve to be in the same ring.

    Fascinating stuff! Burley was well on the slide by then of course, but it must have been a lovely thing to see. This was his second last fight I think? The one with all the KD's? Probably if you were going to see Burley post Smith, this would be the one you want to see.

    A very tough question indeed. Sugar Ray Robinson springs to mind first. He gets my vote as an old timer.


    Ricardo Lopez and Juan Manuel Marquez for the new era. They would both also get my vote as technically the best fighters of all-time, especially in an orthodox sense; fundementals.

    He may not have had the greatest chin by he often got up to win even Marciano said he was harder to finish then he expected.

    Oh Yes, I do like what i have seen of IKE Williams
    - he seemed to have that Robinson'esque blend of boxing ability, poise and power, He tended not to let wounded prey escape.
