I agree that Marquez is the right pick for the best technical boxer, but Calderon deserves a mention too, as does Kessler.

But I don't really think Cotto is that far behind these boys.

How concerned are you by his technical shortcomings and his lack of power/combination punching (at his current weight)? As regards labelling him "the most complete fighter in the world", I mean.

His technique is very good, his chin is very good, but yeah...he does lack power, but then, so does JMM, who also lacks a very good chin!

I was tempted by Cotto too...but Cotto's technique and tactical game can still improve. Soon, he'll be the best, I think.

I hate Mayweather but he is the most complete fighter when you consider defense as well as offense.

Well, it's clearly not Pavlik, but a very good case can be made for Cotto, I think; soon, he'll be the best!

I don't think that BEST and MOST COMPLETE are the same thing, at all.

My problems with Mayweather techncially are miriad, but the main ones - he holds his hands very low, he doesn't punch to cover his "walk away", he sometimes retreats in straight lines when being pursued by an aggressive opponent, he often relies upon head movement alone to avoid dangerous punches, he leads with the left hook etc etc etc. He gets away with all of these things because he is such an extraordinary talent.

Loads of people have said Cotto.

Why do you think it's so unreasonable?

Yes, but Mayweather knows and is able to fight "right" too...he just does what he does to show off and because he can! Technically, he is very good, if he wants to...
