Ok ..boxing is an intricate game with many aspects. We have intangibles, you know the qualitys that are hard to quantify. Heart, desire, will, confidence etc. Then the things that are observable, strength, power, athletic ability, speed, accuracy etc and then the one that encapsalates this wonder we call the sweet science, technical ability. There is very few fighters on the planet that encompasses all the above, boxing is that hard of a sport, it takes someone special to be all the above. Who do you pick at this moment including potentials to tick the box of uks complete fighter. I know one of the first go tos will be josh taylor and rightly so, he can fight well in any range, his technical ability is good as well and seems to posess all the right qualitys. Carl frampton is another. Butler whilst been tech good falls short in durability imo. Has anyone got any potentials...what about cordina? Ryan Garner? Nathan Gorman looks like he has potential....could you imagine Gorman turning into a josh taylor HW. List your 3 and 3 potentials. Carl frampton cordina Josh taylor. Garner Ryan burnett. Gorman Those are the 3 most complete fighters we have atm, with a list of 3 who could be our future compkete fighters. Who you all got?
The thing is guys like Josh Taylor and Callum Smith aren't prospect anymore but can defo step up a few levels in particular Taylor genuine feel he is world class. Prospects would u class as ten or less fight ??
Ok..2 lists. The first list of 3 fighters like ive done on the.left hand side at the bottom of my post. Are ones you would consider are more or less at or around world lvel . The 2nd list of 3 fighters are still under 12 fights
Groves, Frampton, Taylor for current Potentials difficult because it's hard to make a judgement when, generally, their quality of opposition is quite low
Current, probably Frampton, Saunders and Taylor. Though I haven't put an awful lot of thoughts into that. Prospects is a tough one. I'm a fan of Cordina, so I suppose him. Gorman is a good call. Buatsi for my third.
Taylor. Bjs. Will go frampton ahead of groves . Potential more difficult but who think go far Kelly , and based on Amount of fights not age (even tho feel like cheating )Joyce and buatsi prob most likely challenge for world titles
I wouldn’t no. BJS is probably in the top 5 P4P in the UK, no doubt about it but I feel Groves is a more complete fighter. There’s so many different levels to Groves game and don’t forget the adversity he’s had to overcome after to losses to Froch, one of them being brutal and he’s still came back and won a world title, he’s defended against Eubank jr who many predicted to beat him.
