Did he do the Lazcano fight as well, that was shocking also.

Man, I like Hatton, but when people complain about Cortez against Mayweather, I just think how many refs have been on Ricky's payroll over the years...

I like Hatton too, but man when I watch that Tszyu fight, it kills me every time. I don't care who you are, you can't deny seeing Hatton nod to the ref when to break and **** like that.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

Wow, are people on here really that naive? Hatton had arguably won ONE ROUND when he was stopped...and I cant STAND Mayweather. Be realistic people...

I've had the same debate with this guy before. Naive is the word, and people believe what they want to believe sometimes.

I think that was the Ngoudjo fight.

FWIW, my vote goes to Randy Neumann.

Cortez used to be one of the best.....

I think the worst was that Ref here in PR in the Cotto/Corley fight.... he looked lost

    Easiest question ever.....

Laurence Cole..... referee from Texas... Only has his job because daddy Dick Cole is one of the commissioners in the department of licensing which the boxing commission falls under.

Most infamous incedent was JM Marquez v Jaca when Cole informed Marquez he was up on the cards, if he wanted to quit after he got a bad cut.

Other than this there have been numerous incedents of homestate biased refereeing by Cole.

Ever after he didn't say sh*t to Evander when he was constantly using illegal tactics against tyson I hate him. The best ever? I'm glad I'm entitled to my own opinion because I think this guy was incompetent as hell. Sure he cared personally but that didn't contribute to his in the ring performance.

The same Joe Cortez that this board was fawning over a few years ago. It's amazing what 2 fights can do. Hatton and Soto learned first hand what many fighters, Evander Holyfield in particular, already knew.
