Im sure he made some inaccurate statements about Floyd ducking fighters. Just like he made inaccurate statements about Floyd ducking Baldomir and Hatton. Which irked Floyd.
you stole my thread. but yes i agree with ruiz, damn why won't he just contract cancer of the ass and die.
Floyd was irked by the mere suggestion he wasn't the God he likes to think he is. This shows me that he really is the punk many of us percieve him to be and it isn't an act. "I'm not fighting for bragging rights, I already proved myself". How anyone can be a fan of that kind of attitude is beyond me.
He only takes that attitude with those that try to show him up like Kenny does on multiple occassions. People are a fan of his style and his antics outside the ring are funny. Watch the final episode of his 24/7 with Hatton then ask how could someone be a fan of his. He like he says brings excitement to the sport. Not everyone can be the good guy.
PBF,Toney, Tarver. At least Floyd and James have credentials, but Tarver claims to be great based on a lucky punch, against a washed up has been.
I disagree. I think he acts like that toward people who don't bow down in front of him and treat him like a king. If Floyd was just jumping in with fighters regularly and not worrying about every fight raking in 10 figures then he wouldn't need to play the bad guy. Boxing at the top end has become tedious because of the ridiculous demands of certain fighters. It's what's killing this sport and Floyd epitomises that.
My vote goes to Joan Guzman who really ****ed up a good thing by not showing to his fight with Nate Campbell
One thing I've noticed during the course of being a boxing fan is some of the fighters I loathed, such as Mayorga, I actually became a fan of them eventually
So you think that Mayweather would be selling out arenas and bringing record shattering PPV's if he was the good guy and was respectful towards other fighters? You have already made up your opinion of him and thats not going to change but if you'd been following his career you'd know why he has animosity towards certain elements of the boxing community and why he feels he needs to play the heel to sell fights. He beat Corrales and Castillo the 2 best lightweights of his generation and yet Gatti is the one selling out venues all over the USA. Floyd calls out Mosley and all Mosley has for him is a statement that he'd only fight Mayweather for 10 mil. Briain Kenny says that Mayweather is ducking Baldomir and Hatton. And the list goes on. ITs quite clear why he'd have a chip on his shoulder to a segment of the boxing landscape. What certain fighters? Floyd has been in the 2 biggest boxing fights of this decade outside of heavyweight? He has been nothing but good for the sport. What was boxing before Mayweather started showing up on dancing with the stars and getting in media darlings Oscar De La Hoya and Hattons face? Hatton didnt sell big Pay Per views before Mayweather. DLH wasnt doing 2 million buys with Tito and Mosley. How is he killing the sport?
But that were like 90% of DLH fans, 9% of PBF haters and the rest was undecided. In Vegas there was almost 10K Brits supporting Ricky.
Oscar managed to do well on PPV without being a total arse. Ricky was selling pretty well over here before he fought Floyd. There are lots of fighters demanding too much money at the top end, Berto and Froch being examples. Just because they hold alphabet straps they think they should be earning big bucks. Part of the reason fighters feel the need to capitalise on their earning is because they're fearful of what a loss will do to them. Of course, some of this is the fans' and media's fault but if there was less of this circus and more top quality matches happening regularly, boxing would be in a much better state.
