I think Jeff Lacy, no doubt. Some of the guys on the list shouldn't even be there, i.e. Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather and Kelly Pavlik. Miguel Cotto was not overrated in my book. This man beat Shane Mosley, Zab Judah and Joshua Clottey just to name a few. He lost to a cheater in Antonio Margarito. I don't honestly know if Margarito cheated against Cotto, but it is entirely possible. He also lost to Manny Paquiao and there is no shame in that. Unless of course Pacquiao is proven to be a cheater too and then the shame is on him. Ricardo Mayorga had a lot of hype and was a bit overrated, but at welterweight, he was a damn good banger. He had one dimension, but wow, what a dimension! He did win the World Welterweight title by being the only man to stop the late Vernon Forrest. The Jury is still out on Andre Berto, so I'll comment on him sometime in the future. The night of Jan. 30, might be a good time, especially if he were to win. Ricky Hatton was maybe a little overrated, but not the way some people make him seem. He only lost to the best pound for pound fighters in the world in Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. He only lost once at Jr. Welterweight and that was to Pacquiao. Ricky was made to order for Manny. He beat Kostya Tszyu for the World Jr. Welterweight title, in what was the last fight on Tszyu's career. Prince Naseem Hamed had dynamite in his gloves and was the World Featherweight Champion. His fight with Kevin Kelly is legendary. He was still overrated, but not the most overrated. Jermain Taylor was hyped up, but he did end Bernard Hopkins legendary reign, in a close decision. Jermain took a beating late in that fight, but I thought Bernard gave away too many early rounds to win. So Taylor won the Middleweight Championship of the World, even though I thought he lost it back to Hopkins in their rematch. I also thought he lost it to Winky Wright and Cory Spinks. Either way, he is overrated, but not the most overrated, in my opinion. Jeff Lacy was a real disappointment. He had one dimension that looked great versus Scorpian Bawa and terrible against anyone with even remote skill. Once he got into the ring with Joe Calzaghe it was all down hill from there. I think the most overrated fighter of the last decade was Jeff Lacy, hands down.
Roy Jones is washed up now but there was a time, he was a very good fighter. His hype was some what justified. Hes just fought too long
I think I heard some people on this forum calling Floyd Mayweather Jr. the best fighter alive, and that sounds like the most over rating comment ever.
I don't think Hatton should be on the list. He was pretty much an underdog in a few fights even when he beat KT. May'be he was a bit overrated when he stopped a shot JLC in 4, but even then it was really an overblown like Lacy or other fighters. Especially, now after his KO loss of Pacquiao he is starting to become a bit underrated I would say.
