You are very correct but who irks you the most??
Coz there are 2 possibilities here
#1. they are too grossingly hyped
#2. they ain't worthy of fame.

I'll be generic about this - to me there is no question whatsoever that Joe Calzaghe is/was overrated, but only because he's seen as one of the absolute best fighters in all the sport, and one of the better of all time in his weight class, and region of the world. Calzaghe is a very good fighter, but his game has all sorts of holes in it. He's shockingly flawed if you know what to look for. I was watching tape of the Kessler fight to prepare for his encounter with Hopkins, and I started noticing all these openings that Kessler had failed to close on in the mid and late rounds. There were dozens and dozens of holes and openings. Tons. The type that a Juan Manuel Marquez would ****ing rain dance all over. I was stunned, because it wasn't something I noticed when I saw the fight live.. Anyway, Hopkins made Cazlaghe look like a ****ing fool when the time came, and it was no surpise to me whatsoever. Joe is a goddamn great competitor though, I do enjoy him as a personality and gamesman. He's just not at all the technician and boxing scientist that I once believed him to be. Not whatsoever.

Chavez even being on this list proves that many people over-rate him....is it really that hard to see the kids just another 2nd generation flop?

Calzaghe will always have trouble against a top level right handed counterpuncher. Its his flaw. Kessler isn't even that good a counterpuncher, but still had success countering Calzaghe. But apart from counterpunchers, Calzaghe eats fighters alive.

Calzaghe is a great fighter, not as great as Hopkins or Jones, but greater than Winky Wright.

**** i thought i placed his name there..
Anyway i don't see amsterdam around to defend his boy. I would'nt care less. After what he did to nate, for me that's already an "l" in his record even if it's not a title fight.:-(

So a complete fighter with power, speed, counterpunching ability, a good jab, good defense and offense will always give Calzaghe trouble. Thats not that bad man. That kind of fighter would give almost any fighter in history trouble
