Betty not for one second do I think that Hatton wasn't overated or that you are indeed the only one saying it. I'm simply stating that I (and probably a lot of other people on here) are sick to ****ing death of your die hard hatred of the man and the fact that every thread on Hatton or on overated fighters, or **** chins, or anything else derogatory gets infected by your shitness. **** Off !

It's nothing to do with being a fan of anybody. I'm not particularly a fan or a hater of Froch, he's just another fighter to me like Bute, Ward, Abraham or anybody else. I just call em like I see him, and the reality of the situation is he's beaten one guy in Pascal whos beat Diaconu. And Jermain Taylor after looking like a clown for the first half of the fight. He did well to win, no doubt.

That is what he's done, and its not close to Calzaghe. What he might or might do is fantasy world, the reality is he's nowhere near Calzaghe.

It is also the case the entire forum thinks Froch/Pavlik is a mismatch, and that is where we start to see how ridiculously overplayed Froch's abilities are. It's like they are not watching the same person. He has his qualities for sure, but he's slow and has little defence.

TFFP - I actually agree with SOME of that. The Pavlik fight is no 'given' due to the fact that his defence isn't great, but in reality I dont really see Pavlik causing any real trouble. I think he definately has more problems with Kessler, Hopkins and Ward than he does Pavlik

Not to mention the way he cunningly reached out to the council estate dwelling, naive and success starved Man City fans by walking out to Blue Moon and wearing blue:-(.That is ****ing disgraceful.
Just something I picked up on in the Hatton/Pac build up-Hatton was shown a video of good luck messages during an interview with ITV news(I think it was ITV).Amongst the well wishers were Alex Ferguson,Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney:think

True, I think those names are even trickier fights.

But people were talking like Pavlik/Froch is an absolute mismatch which is frankly ridiculous. When people start to see this as more than 60/40 in favour of Froch something is wrong. Pavlik was just as good if not better against Jermain Taylor, and overall watching them there is nothing that would suggest a huge advantage for Froch. It is what it is...two slow sluggers in a war of attrition.

That is what I mean when I say he's overrated, his abilities are in potential matchups.

Well fair one i see your point however the fact that he gets ridiculous amounts of criticism for the way he WON against Taylor is unjustified for me. yes I know he was well and truly outboxed by Taylor in the first 6 but IMO Taylor is a very good boxer on his day so thats there's no shame in being outboxed by a good boxer, and I think he was nervous as hell in that fight. At the end of the day he won and did it in a 'crowd friendly' fashion away from home and doesn't get no respect. He couldn't even get TV coverage in the UK which to me doesn't warrant him as being overated.
Anyways you are right with one thing, Pavlik beat Taylor at his natural weight twice so he is no easy opponent for Froch. If I was a betting man i'd have my money on Froch but by no means in an easy match up

What I think we can say is that Hatton was overrated.Alot of people were carried away with the overwhelming hype that surrounded him.He was put to the test twice vs the very best, and he came up so desperately short. That is evidence enough, and worth alot more than anybodys opinion that somebody is overrated, when they have no such evidence to this claim

I agree with that, Margarito did pretty much the same thing in the Cotto fight, yet his performance in the first six rounds was not held against him.

KOS - Yes mate, Margarito was hailed as some kind of monster whereas Froch is hailed as shite - I know its in the general mainly but that **** creeps into here now and again
TFFP - I'm not aiming that at you either, normally you back up your opinion very well pal

People are quick to say that somebody is overrated after they lose, and that they got 'exposed' and that he was dog**** in the first place rather than giving credit where its due,but I made Hatton an exception since he was so highly though of-largely due to his own bull**** p4p talk

I agree mate but at the minute a lot of people are overrating him on world level. I'll be glad to eat my own words when he proves me wrong though :good
