I suppose Khan is the only one I can think (bar ricky but is he retired yet? ) of but he is being made out to be the next coming of christ yet was KO'd by a relative unknown in Prescott.

Hatton too I suppose, when he faced Mayweather I was surprised at how many people actually thought he had a chance when the only two chances he had were none and feck all ;)

Can't believe no-one has mentioned David Haye. An exciting and talented fighter no doubt but just because he unified a weak CW division and holds a couple of wins over mediocre Heavies, doesn't justify his lofty ranking by certain agencies, in the HW division. Didn't Juan Carlos Gomez do the same thing?

Granted, the HW division is no great shakes but as far as ratings go, Haye has a bit of work to do yet before justifying his.

Hatton still. Good fighter and all that but, but 'P4P elite', 'great fighter'?

    Don't think so.

And I don't like this revisionism either, that puts the 'Hatton that beat Tszyu' on a pedastal. - This is how we 'overrate' him, IMO.

He was considered the best by the press and had a consistency that Haye lacked but Haye was explosive and exciting. In two world title fights he outshone everything Gomez did in 11 boring defences..... plus in his second fight at heavyweight he was obliterated by Yaqui diaz.

Haye hype is primarily because he is frighteningly heavy handed and creative which is direct contrast to the current state of the heavyweight division.

Gomez was a good fighter but had about as much chance of suceeding against a Klitchko as... well..... as he managed.

Amir Kahn anyone? Not convinced by any of his victories, even post Prescott. Oisin ***an with a broken ankle and an old Barrera with a huge gash bleeding into his eye, Kotelnik will be his first legit test IMO.

No one is 'overrating' Khan's achivements though. If anything what is being overrated is his boxing ability.

And frankly, given that most boxing fans consider him a glass jawed hype job, I don't see how he is overrated.

Just a small technical, but pertinent point...it was a peachy little right hand that put ***in down and caused the broken limb (various sources describe it as a broken ankle/leg/back/spinal chord ), it was not something that ***in had climbed through the ropes with.

Everything Khan does gets put down to how bad his opponent is maybe he is overrated by the general public but i think he can be very underrated on here.

Jamie Moore (sorry, but some people talk about him as if he's going to be an undisputed champ, when in reality he's got everything to prove).

    I'll agree with this one.

I think if he is to become world champion he needs to jib his binman job off and focus full time on Boxing. his last few performences not really impressed me.
