When did I mention Deontay Wilder? Neither he nor Liston is a top ten heavyweight all time.

I'm glad I figured out the ignore function at this place ...

On edit, so many people seem to just by God want you to admit that they are right and will argue about it until the cattle are back in the barn.

I'll state my .02 and defend it to an extent but at some point you just gotta say, "We disagree, so be it, hopefully we can disagree agreeably."

Because I'm not trying to change anyone's minds; although my mind has been changed on some things through what I've learned here.

I gave you a chance to validate your rankings for me and you did not validate. Now cool it.

there are overrated qualities about a lot of fighters, Tyson for example the idea that "88 Tyson" is some sort of invincible force that would blow through every heavyweight in history is completely asinine, he never fought that great of opposition in the 80's, but as far as being fun to watch even just him training he is definitely not overrated, I think Holyfield probably always had his number, but then it's like the first Tyson Holyfield fight was pretty amazing despite the headbutt, lots of technical action and just all out banging

young Foreman is overrated in the sense that I think people give him too much credit for blowing through Frazier, and like Tyson a lot of his opposition was mediocre

Ali is overrated in the sense that he gets even more praise and career accolade for beating Foreman once than Foreman did for beating Frazier a couple times, and his later fights were pretty trash and he really just should not have been allowed in the ring

hyping Marciano because of his 49-0 is a bit silly, what is not overrated about Marciano is his pressure, stamina, power, and heart, and a lot of top fighters have so much respect for him

of course Pacquiao, Canelo, and Lomachenko are overrated in the sense that I think Robinson, Hagler, Duran, SRL, and Hearns wouldn't have much trouble with them, but there is no denying they do have some nice wins and are generally a lot more fun to watch than Mayweather, but when Mayweather is forced to fight like vs Canelo and Pacquiao it's a nice watch

while I am inclined to say Mayweather, the reality is he is more fun to watch than Fury, I feel like Usyk is overrated too but there is a lot less BS surrounding him

if I had to pick just one as far as casuals having asinine opinions on their "invincibility" or omnipresent dominance relative to their actual careers, I have to go with Fury

One could argue it was Roy Jones, when he happened to come back around again and fight top competition, Tarver, johnson, he folded like a cheap chair. I really wish he went out after Tarver one. Some days I ask myself "how does Roy feel?" He coulda went out Lennox style, on a close fight but a w. Then I remember Roy's gonna be alright because he's a real dude, doesn't need image, has god in his corner like he said in one of his songs!

Any and every boxer can be overrated regardless how good he is, because fans sometimes go overboard ...

As mentioned in other posts, Tyson is a nice example. No doubt he is an ATG, but the amount of exaggerated praise he has gotten in this very message board sometimes has been ridiculous.

Just out of my mind some quick examples:

Past: Ali, Marciano, Tyson, Holyfield, Holmes, Michael Spinks, SRL, all of them ATG anyway.

    Modern: Fairweather, Vlad, Pacquiao

    Nowadays:
Fury (it is ridiculous how much praise he gets because he is nowhere near of being an ATG)
Canelo (casuals get too carried away by his alphabet soup of titles)

Mayweather. He never fought an elite level opponent at their best. His PR folks knew how to hype marginal opponents like Ortiz, Guerrero, Maidana, Baldomir, while catching the big names on their way up or on their way down.

Ali, people who call him the greatest of all time are often casuals. They heard him say it so often it just stuck in their brain. Great HW, not not nearly the greatest P4P.

Monzon feasted on big names last their prime or considerably smaller.

I suspect PRW94 is capable of looking back a couple of posts, copying the answer I gave to your "challenge" and pasting it in response to you.

I suspect PRW94 has come to the conclusion that you're not worth even that amount of minimal effort.

Right, heavyweight champ of the world is overrated. Not to mention being the first man to unify the belts. And the youngest person to be heavyweight champ. Are you really believing your own lie?

It's the best resume of the last forty years, so I guess everyone sucks then. Sorry about what he did to your feelings.

I've seen him rated in top 50 boxers of all time which for me is very overrated, he never unified and his opposition was weak. Honestly for me he's basically the Chris John of his era stayed at home and feasted on nobodies, and somehow missed out on fighting all these big names Roman, Watanabe, Moon, Konadu.
