I find these to be very different viewpoints from mine. Mayweather beat everybody put in front of him, albeit sometimes snore-inducingly. Very great fighter, certainly a top 15 ATG imo.

Ali...I can see him not making a top 10 pfp, but there hasn't been a freak of nature like him in the heavyweights, ever imo. Nor does it look like there will be.

    As far as Monzon...c'mon, dude.

    No disrespect intended.

Canelo actually had such good form and technique when he fought Mayweather even though he was a bit "green", that has since dissolved and now there is some illusion that he is a power puncher along with the silly head movement, it works with how they fight nowadays with the stagnant pacing/feeling out but would not fly with someone constantly pressing and bringing action like Hagler SRL etc

GGG pressed him and did medium at best. I'm not sure if Canelo can reach that kind of form again though. Also, Hagler did a lot of methodical boxing and Leonard went to the back foot a lot, not unlike Jacobs, BJS, Plant, Trout and Lara.

Hagler had a great, long jab, Canelo doesn`t.

Just reading this thread. Not taking sides. Sometimes it's hard to just make the best point you can and walk away.

He surely would have, Richard! The big guy ranked Gene Tunney very low on his all time list.

IMHO. BTW, I don't c ppl overrate Marciano but not saying that doesn't happen. Ppl were comparing him to Frazier but imho dudes I stumbled upon made good points so again I don't c it.

As much as I disdain Mayweather he's one of the most talented guys I've seen but the way casuals talk about him like it's a crime not to him him as GOAT is abhorrent. Ppl do the same w Jordan like if ppl wanna have LeBron or Kareem ahead of him don't whine, that's their opinion. Its okay to question but we all got different perspectives.

Only to casuals, but the reality of it is he never fought one elite level fighter at their best. If he did, please tell us who?

You could say Ali, Holmes, and Tyson never beat an elite level fighter at his best. What an awesome club for Mayweather to join.

It changes with the times and depends a great deal upon the sample pool. Currently? Tyson Fury. He beat Wilder thrice and that's it. THAT'S ALL. And there is a solid body of fans that rate him numba won ATG able to beat anybody that ever laced up the gloves on any night and then whip his lil brother.

    Hyperconnectivity was a mistake.
