Spinks was at his best at 175, he was faster at that weight.

    Thats fair but

    Spinks
    Tucker
    Thomas
    Smith
    Bruno twice
    Ruddock twice
    Holmes

Imho are comparable to any Mayweather win barring DLH n Pacquiao in total along w the fact Tyson cleaned out his division becoming undisputed which really hasn't happen even lately since who Wlad? Tbf I do think DLH had more in his tank than Holmes so I hear u on that which is why I can only use the totality argument. I'll admit, after 90 I do struggle to find a solid win from Tyson minus Ruddock and a guy he already clearly beat in Bruno. Feel like we'll disagree overall on this but that's fine I respect ur assessment.

Again I gotta applaud Mayweathers discipline which was gone from Tyson after 89 but a case can b made that yr or maybe sooner too. Personal bias, but I'd rather watch Tyson lose to Holyfield in their first bout than any Mayweather fight after JWW but again that's subjective. Ppl really don't give Mayweather his credit as a boxer-puncher from SFW-JWW.

Well said on Loma have nothing to add there.

Correction, it was Lewis who last unified hvy. He was still too much for Tyson to handle once they did fight.

Of the guys you listed, I think only Holmes and Bruno would have any decent wins after losing to Tyson. That might in some cases have something to do with the beating Tyson put on them, but also in several cases because they had seen their best days. That was an era of talented but undiscplined HWs burning out early.

Tucker and Ruddock are the guys that really were in their prime, but I'd take Corrales and Castillo over them in a p4p sense. Even Canelo, DLH and Pac, actually, even though they weren't in their prime.

True guys like Dokes n Tubbs really were common w having talent but not being disciplined. It really was Holmes n Tyson standing out but tbf they could only beat the guys available in their era along w any great fighter really. Facing a steamroller like a motivated Mike definitely can take away their momentum indeed.

Holmes n Spinks r better names than Corrales n Castillo but agreed Tyson fought them on their way out meanwhile Corrales n Castillo were prime. If I'm not mistaken, Corrales might have had weight issues but he was in better shape than Spinks was honestly. Dont c any version beating that Floyd tbf.

Yeah I definitely can't compare any Tyson win to DLH n Pacquiao so I left them out. Canelo was still super young in his career but nonetheless another standout fighter and masterclass done by Floyd.

For the record I think Lewis was a really good fighter but he is so inexplicably overrated by so many fans nowadays it’s not even funny.

Just to give some perspective on how overrated Loma was after Russel, Rigo and Walters - if he was the best ever then (as he was according to some) what about Inoue now? As absolutely flawless as Inoue's career has been, he, thankfully, doesn't get the same mindless adulation as Loma did and still does.
