    Everyone knows David Beckham he is probably the most famous athlete in the world..... Most American sportsmen and women wouldn't get a look apart from Olyimpians because in fairness although I do like a bit of Baseball and NFL nobody watches it apart from the Americans.... the biggest worldwide American sport is NBA but even then it pales in comparison to Soccer and even Cricket, the only cross over star that would have been known everywhere was Jordan,

    currently the most popular fighter is definitely pac. most popular athlete currently is probably a toss up between tiger, kobe/lebron, michael phelps, lance armstrong, christiano ronaldo/beckham...

    From Britain to Brazil to Bahrain, Australia etc.... Lewis Hamilton must be the most famous motorsport driver out there

    The texans really surprise me. They are a shitty team from a pretty obscure city without a real nationwide following. **** they've only been around since 2002. I don't think they've ever even made the playoffs.

    What is 'richest' defined as though? Largest capital or largest cash flow? Manchester Utd will almost certainly have a larger revenue that is related to the club, whereas City possibly have a larger bank balance the current owners. The vast majority of the spending power available to City will be from other business enterprises of the owners. So it all depends on the criteria for judgement.

    The most famous athlete is Pele.

    The most lucrative soccer teams are Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Chelsea, honorable mention goes to CD Chivas of Mexico the most lucrative team of the Americas.

    Ali, Tyson, Foreman (though this could be down to his grills as well, I know a few folk whol thought he was a chef, no kidding)

    Active - Pacqiaou, Hatton, Holyfield (not the most popular in terms of PPV buys now, but hes the best known HW at least to the general public)

    Other sports - Jordan, Beckham, Tiger, Hogan ;)
