Please be advised that any post regarding bacon, ham, pork charcuterie in general, manhood, testosterone and veiled homoeroticism, regard exclusively the subject of The Prussian and as such are NOT thread related.

Willie Pep was amazing defensively and offensively and he was not a power puncher but sufficient

Benny Leonard was also a ring genius

Ray Robinson a master with great tools

Roberto Duran aggressive knowledge and skill and killer skills

Sugar Ray Leonard, had speed, power, technique and killer instinct

    Tony Canzonari

If I had to pick a winner Pep

Some great points SS. Plus, Ali lost his truly prime years. Makes you wonder how much greater he would have become ...

You may be correct because of SRR's natural punching power. I love Willie's record prior to the plane crash and SRR record was something like 126-1-1 before the first Turpin fight and like 132-2-1 after Turpin but both men were deep. I forgot to add Greb to the list, he was a marvel as well

I'm guessing you weren't around when Ali had his draft trouble. You seem to believe the myth.

Ali screwed himself by not keeping his mouth shut.

He could easily have avoided the draft if he had wanted to. The US government granted conscientious objector status to thousands of men.

One requirement for a conscientious objector is that he not believe in ANY wars. Ali kept repeating in public that he would fight in a war if it was declared by the "Honorable" Elijah Muhammad (a petty thug). He legally shot himself in the foot every time he said it.

Ali was a great boxer but he was also a fool.
