For me it came down to Jarron Ennis and Vergil Ortiz, and I went with Ortiz. Both are absolutely gassed to the gills with talent and both have extremely high skill levels. Ennis didn't look as great his last time out as he had been, butnthats expected, he was 22 years old and still growing as a fighter. But Vergil friggin Ortiz......... That kid is about the same age as Ennis, but man, what a bad little mother effed he is. I don't recall seeing such a complete, skilled, talented, physical, and intelligent total packagge sure thing since Loma, and those 2 go down as the most sure thing prospects I have seen since the turn of the century. If I had a house, I would be that, the farm, the everything on this kid. I seriously wouldnt be surprised if he was put in RIGHT NOW against the top dudes in the division and beat some, all, or even KO'd them. I wouldnt put money on it, but I wouldn't be surprised. If he was a baseball player he'd be the first 10-tool prospect in baseball history. Who you guys got? If anyone says anything other than Vergil Ortiz, go away. This is Vergil's thread. Beat it.
"If anyone says anything other than Vergil Ortiz, go away." C'mon man! I have never seen a stupid condition like this before.
There is no 'sure thing' prospect. Most new champions aren't 'sure things', let alone prospects. Countless upsets in Boxing prove this.
Haha. Remember the 2012 ESPN Prospect of the Year? That said, Vergil Ortiz and Israil Madrimov are the best looking prospect IMO.
What most are saying, Ortiz and Madrimov for me too. I like having lots of prospects in the ranks as - as someone has noted - plenty of them get caught out on the way up and it's always quite exciting when you see it happen live.
Groves beating Degale was a great moment. I was a student who won a few quid on calling that upset. Everyone else in my gym thought Degale the gold medalist couldn't possibly get beaten by some ginger kid that they'd barely heard of.
100,000% Virgil Ortiz. It's too bad that he's an ugly ass dude because he could be much more popular.
