    Marquez is a wonderful technician, no doubt about it... but when you look at the technical boxing match he had vs fmj, even taking the athleticism & size difference on board, I think its pretty clear cut who was the higher level boxing technician, JMM didn`t even win a round.

    His last fight showed his technical limitations... I do agree however that he is technically good enough to at least make the list, he`s not the best of that list tho, no way.

    Mayweather, Hopkins,Ward, Marquez. These are the best and this is the correct order IMO.

    * Proper stance, footwork and maintaining balance

    * Punching technique - ability to setup second/third/fourth punches because proper postining/balance is maintained.

    * Left jab - for offense and defense

    * Counter punching

    * Blocking/rolling with/slipping punches

    Floyd wins it because of the last area.

    I believe Juan has the best stance while Bernard has the most textbook footwork.

    Punching technique goes to Juan.

    I'd say Hopkins. But it's hard to choose between BHop, Marquez, Floyd, and even Ward.

    Richard Abril, the guy is massive for 135 and clearly has amazing skills, could see him as high at 160

    What?

    I have Hopkins in my top 50 ATG, so I don't know where that came from. I've never talked to you about Hopkins under any other light than how his first fight went and the rematch with Dawson will fare, so don't make stupid assumptions then try to act like I hate a guy and belittle his accomplishments when that is clearly not the case.

    At one time, yes Hopkins was on the list. Sorry, I don't think he is as technically skilled as a few other guys in the sport.

    The fact that you call someone who doesn't list a 47 year old as being one of the THREE best technical fighters in the game a "hater" just goes to show how deep your bias swings in the opposite direction.

    This isn't really as simple as some seem to think. Simply saying that Floyd or JMM is the most skilled isn't fair. It seems that people tend to label classical boxers as only the skilled fighters. Its like saying the honda accord is the best auto. It depends, if you need a truck then the accord is ****. Sluggers and bawlers can also be very skilled fighter. Doing it in a different way doesn't mean you aren't skilled. Mike Tyson, Hagler and Duran were very skilled fighters. On the flipside Roy Jones Jr while the most physically gifted fighter of our life time wasn't really that skilled which is why his end came so fast after his prime years pasted.

    BTW skill is learned talent is born to you. You can learn talent and your not born with skills. If you were we wouldn't **** ourselves as babies, and we would walk out of our moms. I think people are confusing the two.

    I'm not so sure about that. It's always boxers, boxer-punchers, and swarmers I see on lists.
