This is true. Holmes is seen rightly as a great champion today. He was always a great fighter, he just had to wait for the world to realise it, but with hindsight it should have been obvious all along. Larry was seen as a slow burner for a lot of the media but he was the real deal all along. His wins over Young Sanford/Fred Houpe and Rodney Bobick proved how good he was.
Ingo Johansson is a great candidate. When he fought Machen and Patterson there was nobody better to beat ...and he wiped the floor with both of them. Obliterated the pair of them back to back.
I knew Wlad was being underrated when I saw someone picking him to beat Tommy Morrison by decision. The chance of Tommy lasting 12 in that fight is zero.
Ziko Merovic. A crafty well skilled boxer imo. Shame he had to take an early retirement. I reckon he would have beaten the Holyfield of 1999 and many other high rankers around that time.
Tim Witherspoon .when at his best( tricky to know when that was! )he was very dangerous. great defense skillful hard hitting good chin good ring brain.was avoided by most with good reason.
