Here's my point, Cintron isn't good enough to be the most underrated fighter on this board. Cintron isn't a journeymen, he just struggles against them. The guy has some pop, that's it. While he may have a chance against any WW, he doesn't have a good chance. Clottey, Margo, Williams, Cotto, Mosely, Collazo, Quintana, and Berto would all beat him. He's simply not a top level WW. Nothing he has done would suggest otherwise. He hasn't beaten any top tier WWs and he's gotten destroyed in his only two fights against a top tier WW. Anyone who can neurilize his power has a legit shot at beating Cintron. The whole idea behind this thread is subjective, but I believe that you overrate Cintron which is why you believe him to be underrated.

The man in your avatar (OP). The way he gets treated is pretty crazy. I know Conditioner 101 has his own reasons but for most people to say he completely sucks is way offbase. Running into Tony twice can happen to anyone who has some balls.

What does Cintron do well besides hit hard? Who has he beat? I don't hate Cintron, but I just don't see all that much talent in the guy.

He hasn't had any high profile fights besides Margarito. All I'm saying is lets not judge the guy on those two fights when it's obvious other guys in the division won't take that kind of power.

That's all good, but what does he do well besides hit hard? Also, the guy has had chances for other high profile fights. His manager agreed in principal to financial terms for Cintron to fight Mosley. Cintron said he didn't like the deal and turned it down. He also had his shot to fight Williams. He took an ill advised tuneup fight and got injured. I'm not just judging Cintron by the two Margo debacles. I've seen a few of his fights and has shown nothing besides some power. An underrated fighter to me is someone who has good skills but gets overlooked by the public. Cintron is not all that skilled and has not been overlooked. He's had more than enough exposure. People have seen more than enough of him in order to form an accurate opinion of him. The truth is, he is not all that good. He's not terrible. He's got size and power. Perhaps one day he'll be able to put it together

i'd be surprised if people make winky out to be ****.

he is one of these rare fighters who was genuinely avoided for many years until tito gave him his dues. but since then he's not only started his own promotional company but also priced himself out of legitmiate fights.

IMO he's almost hurt himself more since he rose to power.

Then I'll continue to disagree with you and this is why.

Kermit Cintron has only lost to one fighter, and that same man is the best guy at 147lb currently. Prior to that fight, you claim Cintron struggled with Journeyman, but seldom did his opponents see the final bell. Cintron is lacking in Boxing ability, perhaps, but he still knows how to throw a good punch, and he is one of the biggest Welterweights in the world physically, which poses more problems for his opponents. But Cintron all of a sudden stopped being a prospect because he was stopped by Margarito, but now Cotto has lost to that same man and in devastating fashion, it's time for the Boxing world to acknowledge Kermit Cintron once more. He was reduced to Journeyman like status, and you agree that he isn't a Journeyman. That sounds like an agreement to me.

Kermit Cintron is not the most underrated fighter in Boxing, but he is the most underrated of that list. If you don't rate Kermit, then perhaps instead of replying to me disagreeing, we should agree to disagree because there is nothing you can do to convince me Kermit is a journeyman. Nothing at all.

jermaine taylor since losing to pavlik twice (with the second fight being close), I think he is going to surprise some at 168.

Incorrect. I don't believe that posters in general on this board view Cintron as a journeyman. I don't agree with this flawed assumption. That's my one problem with your argument. That is that Cintron isn't viewed as badly as you make him out to be. My second problem is that Cintron isn't very good. There are plenty of good fighters that posters on this site don't think much of. Those fighters are much more underrated than a seriously flawed fighter who gets dumped on.

That's not even the argument. No on is saying Cintron is a journeyman. However, he's still not very good. His power, combined with the fact that he has another big promoter behind him will prevent him from becoming a journeyman. Journeyman have poor promotion and routinely have to take fights on short notice. I don't see Cintron reaching that status and the general opinion of Cintron on this board is that he is not a journeyman.
