I liked Corrie Sanders. Dude was super tough and was a nightmare for the Klithcko brothers.

Love my countryman.... And he could have done so much more.... But probably should have gone to the U.S.A to fight.... And also should have worked harder and play less golf....

Francois Botha was same generation and Botha went to the U.S..... And Sanders was so much better than him... But Botha got the opportunities...

This is a good call but maybe more unfullfilled than underrated? I ticked Tunney, simply because I was impressed with him when I watched his old fights on tape.

I dont think hes been given enough credit for how tough and durable he really was. Imo he was severely underrated.

Are any of those listed fighters underrated?
Yeah, I rate him highly. Damn shame what happened.

Another good call, started boxing late from memory too, imagine if he picked it up earlier.

    Holmes or Klitschko

Definitely Klitschko if you're referring to casuals

James J Jeffries. He was once considered one of the greatest fighters to ever live by his peers.

Voted Holyfield. I think his rough and prolonged final act has gotten in the way of many appreciating what he did in his prime.

Out of that list probably either Sonny Liston or Wladimir Klitschko.

Liston is only remembered for the Ali fights, in which he was already past his best at this point. Overall though Liston was a fantastic technical fighter with an ATG jab, and does better in H2H matches than alot of people think.

Wladimir gets underrated when ranking him all time amongst other Heavyweights, because of his boring style and KO losses. But I give him props for the amount of title defences he made, the amount of undefeated fighters he beat 13 I believe, and how he rebounded from those KO losses. Maybe not the best era or most exciting style, but for achievements he ranks up there for me.

As for other Heavyweights who I think are underrated ?

    Michael Dokes
    Pinklon Thomas
    Jimmy Young
    Jerry Quarry
    Jimmy Ellis
    Ezzard Charles
    Floyd Patterson
    Cleveland Williams

Jimmy Young - his run from Lyle through Norton was very impressive. You can make a decent argument that he didn't lose any of these fights. His style and lack of charisma resulted in him being underrated.
