Who is the most underrated/overrated boxer today?

    Underrated: Joe Calzaghe. I think if he were American, he would get a lot more credit for what he has accomplished. Similar number of title defenses as Joe Louis. Sure his competition hasnt been out of this world, but neither was Louis'.

    Overrated: Edwin Valero. He's kinda got that Sam Peter power aura going for him right now by knocking out lower level opponents. A fight w/manny will show if he's really the goods.

    Emanuel Steward? I have seen him work in a camp. He is a boxing genius. Most fighters that lose under his toolage don't listen>>>Taylor is a perfect example

    and the reason why he prolly called Pavlik a bum is b/c Taylor does have the tools to beat him and shoulda won if he just listened to his corner. But to each his own, Manny is a damn good trainer

    overrated: Calzaghe hes real good definitley elite but people on here seem to think hes a god(China Hand will be responding quickly on that)

    underrated: Humberto Soto, after he beats Guzman i think people will start to appreicate him a little more

    Welcome to ESB. Where Joe Calzaghe is highly overrated.

    And this is coming from someone who considers him top3 p4p and one of my top 5 fav active fighters....and even I KNOW he is overrated here.

    I think he is too. But it doesn't bother me in the LEAST, mostly because of all the **** he got before the Lacy fight.

    Depends which ratings you follow....if its on here its impossible to tell because opinions differ so much.
    Judging from ring mag I'd say Hopkins is over-rated today.
    Kessler is def under-rated as is Dawson.

    OVERRATED:
    1. by far Alexander Dimitrenko a bum who doesn't know what the hell he#s doing
    2. one-hit wonders of the lower claasses I.Vasquez, R.Hatton, E.Valero...

    UNDERRATED:
    1. Odlanier Solis who is fairly respected but not seen as the p4p material that he is
    2. Chris John who beat Marquez but doesn't get any respect
    3. Yan Barthelemí (3-0 against Gamboa in the amateurs)

    Dzindziruk is underrated talentwise but has virtually no results
