atsch Based on what??? Do you even understand the meaning of being well rounded?? You clearly dont if you think Pac is the most well rounded.:-(
I actually think Ward is currently the sport's No.1 P4P fighter, as not everyone has cottoned on to the extent that Floyd has deteriorated.
Andre Ward. Andre Ward tested himself against a larger counter puncher with a good jab. We haven't seen Floyd do this yet. He could give us this opportunity by fighting Martinez. There are quite a few similiarities if Floyd would take that fight. He would be fighting a larger fighter, that may be weight drained, who is also older. Ward passed the test. It remains to be seen if Floyd would pass the test.
atsch If he's so well rounded why cant he cut down the ring?? That alone tells me he's not good in all areas to make him the most well rounded fighter...This isnt a knock to him but some of you dudes go overboard with your opinions.
I was going to say Floyd, but his punching power makes him lose to Rigonedeaux. Ward has less power than Floyd does and Marquez's defense is lacking at times. Vitali is
Floyd without a doubt, Ward isn't as well rounded as him or Marquez. Marquez gets hit more because he takes more offensive chances than either of them, but his defense is on point just not Floyd level. Rigondeaux doesnt have the resume for him to be considered. Vitali isn't even as well rounded as Wladimir, why was he included?
jmm floyd - lacks the Punch power compared with JMM ward isn't as rounded as the other 2 rigo is also very complete.
JMM because he has a great blend of offensive skills (great combination puncher, the best uppercut in boxing at the moment and good accuracy) with great defensive skills and the ability to think in the ring.
Ward is the most adaptable fighter on the list so, for me, that makes him the most well-rounded. Mayweather and Marquez are so good at fighting the way they do, that they don't usually need to adapt lol. That's how good they are. And to the guy that said Paqcuiao... come on bro. Pacquiao relies on speed and power to obliterate his opponents. If a fighter isn't overwhelmed by that, he's fresh out of ideas. That alone means he's not a well rounded fighter. And although his feet are incredibly fast, he can't cut off the ring to save his life. He's a great fighter, but he only has two settings... on and off.
What fight in particular are you refering to where he wasn't able to cut off the ring? Marquez? Mosley? I think against Marquez, he was hesitant to engage because Marquez is a precise counterpuncher and he has excellent lateral movement. Considering Pacquaio is noticably smaller than Mosley, and a southpaw, I thought he did a decent job cutting off the ring against a fighter that clearly didn't want to engage. Are you discrediting him because he wasn't able to knock him out? If you recall, Mayweather didn't knock him out either, and he's a rangier fighter than Pacquaio. The difference between Mayweather and Pacquaio in this regard, is people typically don't respect Mayweather's punching power, which allows him to be defensive and counterpunch. When Cotto and Hatton tried to use their size agianst Pacquaio, one was knocked out, and the other was knocked down multiple times. I don't think you're fairly judging Pacquaio. Besides, he does everything well. Defense, offense, footwork, counterpunching. Why is he not well-rounded? What does it take to be a well rounded fighter?
Humberto Soto. Soto is the best of them all. 3 world titles in the 126, 130, and 135lbs divisions, in a 70 pro fight career, and was ducked by Pac, JMM, EM, MAB, Valero and so many others. Soto lost to Matthysse, Guzman, Lorenzo cause all 3 CHEATED!! so, those 3 "losses" dont count.
