There aren't any that stand out in particular. Paul Appleby is a young 126lb'er who has made a good start winning the British title after 12 fights, and hasn't fought the usual 3-88-17 selection of bums that we usually see over here.
James DeGale won't achieve ****all. He doesn't have the style to make a decent pro - he will simply be a shitter, 160lb version of Junior Witter. But even more painful to watch.
Of the Olympic crop, Billy Joe Saunders has the most pro friendly style. I think Degale himself knows he is not making waves at pro, which is why he is seriously considering staying amateur until the London Olympics but provided he gets more money.
Yeah I agree, BJS throws a wicked body shot and likes fighting. Amateur boxing is essentially an exhibition sport these days, they dont fight as such.
true amature boxing is a real let down considering this is where we all look for the future talent of the sport its disgraceful the way it has changed
I think he could do yes. He would have to work on his defence though, to me he relies a lot on his counter punching ala JMM but from the southpaw stance - however he is fairly hittable. The amateur game doesn't encourage good defence, it seems to encourage potshotting and running.
