Who IS the Next Great Black Hope in the Heavyweight division

There is no need for a "black hope", no need. Especially after Peter destroys Oleg in the ring.

I do like Eddie Chambers, i haven't been impressed by Malik too much and Franklin Lawrence is not as good as his record suggests.

 

I hoping that Peter rips Oleg a new one, and if that happens then you've got your black hope right there.

 

Sam Peter is the next Black Heavyweight Champ.

Chambers isn't going to be able to beat the bigger HW's.

McCline doesn't stand a chance. Byrd is too small - something like Chambers.

Rahman is washed up. On and on......

Black hope? Yeah, I remember the days of celebration and people dancing in the streets when Briggs bested Lyakhovich for the WBOgus title and weakened the Eastern European grip on the HW titles, and the shock, humiliation and despair which sparked race riots all over the country when Shannon the Cannon dropped the title to Ibragimov. :rofl

Seriously, whether the thread starter is being facetious or not with his usage of that term, I'm pretty sure that black people are going to have to start giving a **** about boxing again en masse for there to be a "Black hope."

 

Why do you need a black hope..or white hope for that matter? Aren't we past the whole race thing yet? How about hope for compelling match ups that make us give a damn? People that crave a white or black hope are simply biased or racist. :deal

 

Yeah it's 2007...there is no need for a "hope" for what? I think that type of thinking died over 20 years ago...In fact I dont think people even give a **** about boxing anymore...
