Believe it or not, but Toney is the nicest guy around as long as you're cool with him. Totally different person than the one we see at press conferences and in the ring. He cares a lot for sick and disabled kids, especially doing charity work for autists in his spare time, and he supports young amateur kids who start their career in boxing, visiting them in the gym and giving counsel, even sparring with them, and regardless of their ethnicity.

For sure.. I've seen it first hand. First time I met James was in an elevator.. He has been nothing but class every time I have seen him since. The gym I went to has a show for Autism every couple months. James represents. In fact he's at damn near every show chillin.

that's the image he has, and it's that thug image he's selling to the public - and it sure is entertaining. But outside the ring, interviews and press-conferences, when the cameras are shut off he's different. To be honest Toney can be arrogant and loud sometimes because he's hot-tempered, but he's not an ass. If you're cool with him he'll be the coolest person around. But if you don't get his sense of humour and are looking for trouble with him, he'll put you right back in your place (verbally).

I have meet two current fighters in person..Shane Mosley at a barber shop in So Cal back in the early 1990's, before superstardom. I think that he told us he was 9-0 at the time. He was a nice enough guy, he talks alot and the barber was clowning him.

I meet Jones at a USBL basketball game in Salina Kansas a few years back. Jones to me seemed almost meekish, very soft spoken, and respect. I think it took me 15 mins to know it was him. I remember thinking, that dude looks like RJJ, but not thinking it was him. It was, very nice guy, signed some auto's and asked my son some questions, My son didnt know who he was. As we was leaving my boy said "Dad, why did we get that guys autograph, he wasnt that good (at basketball)" I said "Son that maybe the greatest boxer of mine and your lifetimes"...."Well why is he wasting time playing basketball"

Cant really speak on many others, I knew several others from the am dayz, but we were kids.
