Too me i say Vitali cause even though he had a 4 year layoff, his last 3 fights were top 10 hv fighters and all 3 were by stoppage in which is very impressive for a fighter that is old and coming off 4 year layoff.

I can't believe Vitali's on top so far. Wladimir's recent resume pales in comparison. Would Vitali win head to head? Quite possibly, but it's moot since it will never happen anyway.

Vitaly because he can box and fight

Wlad can box a bit better than Vitaly but he panicks as soon as hes in a fight

7 of Wladimir's last 9 opponents were ranked in the top 10, and 7 of those wins were by stoppage. I mean seriously, what's the better list of wins (ignoring Wladmir's two mandatories against unranked opponents):

    Vitali:
    Arreola (Ring #8 )
    Gomez (Ring #10)
    Peter (Ring #4)

    Wladimir:
    Chagaev (Ring #3)
    Thompson (Ring #8 )
    Ibragimov (Ring #4)
    Brewster (Ring #9)
    Brock (Ring #7)
    Byrd (Ring #1)
    Peter (Ring #8 )

Wlad. He's boring but incredibly effective. He's almost unbeatable right now.

absoultely. arreola by brutal knockout or quit by the 7th round or earlier. I see it at around round 5.

Yeah, Wlad would've KOed Arreola within 6 i think. That jab would've set up that right hand and a few of those and Arreola is done.

It could go that way, or it's possible if Wlad thought he was in control by the mid rounds that he'd let some powerful shots go (like against Brock). Wlad's best shots would KD/KO Areola IMO. It's just a question of whether he gets confident enough to use them.

Vitaly is clearly the formidible HW and Wlad knows this too. Even on accomplishments, I still vote for vitaly. Although wlad has dominated in most of his wins, Vitaly does it in a much more convincing fashion. Yes wlad has more W's recently, but both guys are fighting b level HW's so what's the difference
