It's far from perfect but I think it gives us a pretty good indication of which fighters are hitting and getting hit less overall and it's certainly a better metric than facial damage is

Loma marks up easier than Crawford it doesn't mean he gets hit more. He also has a tiny 65.5'' reach and is, in complete contrast to Crawford, routinely fighting opponents who are much or way bigger than him and, again in complete contrast to Crawford with his 74'' reach, he's fought a lot of legit bangers or KO artists not only his size but bigger or way bigger at 135

If Crawford was fighting world champions and top contenders who were much or way bigger, heavier and longer than him he'd get hit way more and way more than Loma does and if many of them were legit bangers or KO artists who were big punchers for a division he's tiny for and doesn't belong in he would've been KTFO numerous times

And obviously power is magnified when you're facing opponents much or way bigger than you even if they aren't considered big punchers vs opponents their size

And Loma has fought a higher level of opposition too of course

The only reason why 135 is Loma's 3rd weight class is because he turned pro at 25, Crawford turned pro at 20

Crawford was rehydrating up to 18lbs in his first division, up to 17lbs in his 2nd, and he's obviously roughly doing similar in his 3rd

I gave a conservative estimate he was coming in at about 162 at 147 but he was reputedly 165 for Spence according to one source albeit I don't know if it's true or not. But he looked drained on the scales and says 147 has become hard for him to make. Loma makes 135 with utter ease and could easily, has spoken about doing so, and should move down to 130 IMO

Not only did Loma turn pro way later than Crawford but he was never a weight bully

The most he has ever rehydrated was 12.5lbs and that was in his 1st weight class

The most in his 2nd was 9lbs

He's not rehydrating near that in his 3rd

Even at 25 y/o, If he was rehydrating as much as 18lbs in his first weight class, weighing what he weighed in the ring for his pro debut, he would've been down at 112, 118 for his 2nd pro fight, and 122 for his heaviest ever recorded weight at 126

Crawford posted a photo of himself weighing 177lbs on the scales six years ago for goodness sake and he said he weighed 180 late last year

    His trainer said this too

“What a lot of people don't know is that Terrance can walk around at 180 lbs, and he's healthy. “

There's a reason why almost everyone at 135 Loma has fought at 135 looks much or way bigger than him and why Crawford looks roughly the same size as the guys he's fighting at 147 and NEVER looks undersized at 147 or even close to how small Loma looks at 135 compared to his opponents. And that reason IS because he's tiny for 135, is fighting opponents much or way bigger and heavier than him and Crawford is, at worst, fighting opponents roughly his size at 147

There's also a reason why Crawford looks roughly the same size as career 154 Madrimov despite it being Crawford's 4th division. There's a good chance Crawford will be the heavier man in the ring out of the two of them on fight night IMO and he already has a big reach advantage over him, almost six inches

I posted that video because it's, as said, one of the extremely rare occasions in Crawford's 40 fight career he's fought a legit puncher his size

Perhaps you can draw up a list of all the legit bangers and KO artists his size he's fought?

Take you pick from this murderer's row of murderous punchers, many of whom he was way, much or bigger than not much or way bigger than him

    Klimov
    Postol
    Burns
    Indongo
    Beltran
    Jean
    Lundy
    Horn
    Diaz
    Dulorme
    Khan
    Benavidez
    Porter
    Brook
    Avanesyan
    Molina
    Egis
    Gamboa
    Spence

FTR, I think Crawford is an excellent fighter and I've had him top 3 P4P for freaking ages. I also consider him one of the top 5 most skilled in the sport
