I have many, but Sugar Ray Robinson in his prime stands out.

I don’t think there is such person. A century and a half containing literally thousands of competitors and countless achievements makes it nearly impossible to crown one man as the all time king. There are however several names that I believe reach the upper echelon of the best of the best.

    - Ray Robinson
    - Ezzard Charles
    - Henry Armstrong
    - Archie Moore
    - Roberto Duran
    - Sam Langford
    - Harry Greb
    - Muhammad Ali
    - Joe Louis

This list is about best, not about greatest.
There's no footage whatsoever of Greb fighting so we can tell how he'd do in H2H fantasy matchups.

When you beat so many great fighters that look great on available footage, you have to be damn good - no matter what some people on Internet think about your look.

There is no clear GOAT in boxing history.

I said best ever, not GOAT.

TBE is not the same as GOAT !!!

    TBE is all about H2H
    GOAT is mostly about achievements

SRR is the only one that has the achievements, and he's also a H2H monster.

He's not the only one - Ezzard Charles was also H2H monster, so was Henry Armstrong. Langford was monster across multiple divisions.

To be GOAT candidate, you have to be H2H monster.

On paper it's probably Harry Greb.

But criminally, there is very little footage of Greb and I can't justify calling someone the GOAT that I've never seen.

Therefore in terms of resume and footage, I'd have to say its Sugar Ray Robinson.

Ezzard Charles very well could be. The cobra is a hero of mine and one of the most deserving of P4P. Langford maybe? Pep?

I think Duran is outside the argument honestly. I think Robinson really is a clear pick depending on how you rate Greb and the other really, really old fighters.

On a side note, In time I think GGG will stink out the MW division Archie Moore style and move up a few spots at MW. Canelo one day taking a fight against even a token Cruiser ABC Champion could be worth mentioning not P4P1 material but some thoughts.

If we focus mainly on h2h and only include boxers from which there is enough clear video material available:
    1. SRR should be no suprise. But we can discuss the following 19^^

Top 2-5 in no order: Ali, Marvin Hagler, SRL, Roy, Jones jr.
Top 5-20 should include: Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, Carlos Monzon, Thomas Hearns, Floyd Mayweather jr. (although I do not like him very much) and some of the smaller / lighter Heavyweights. Imagine Marciano or Patterson at 185 lbs. Or guys like Louis, Norton, Baer in Cruiserweight. I'm not that much intrested in smaller guys but Willie Pep deserves a spot. Greb, Armstrong, Langford, etc. are unfortunately not included because they are based more on stories and newspaper reports than on video material.
