Gatti was more recognized than anyone else for being a brawler; the "Blood and Guts Warrior" is what they called him. It's not even close.
There's a difference between fluid or stiff swarmers and all out brawlers to me. Now Mayorga, that was a straight up brawler.
Yeah I saw an interesting thread last month trying to find the definition of a brawler so for me I would say that a brawler is the guy who wants to entertain people by fighting aggressively and ferociously. Something like that. BTW, Mayorga is one of them. No doubt about it.
Good chin, good power, DGAF about head movement. From that list I'd pick between Katsidis Gatti and Ward
Gatti actually boxed much more earlier in his career so I disqualified him. I picked Ward but Katsidis is cut from the same cloth.
I feel like katsidis is the only one who didn't/doesn't perform something close to boxing at times during his fights, so I guess he's the truest brawler of them all even though all of them have that reputation.
Katsidis has been in as many Fight of the year contenders and classics as Ward and Gatti, can't miss one of his fights, he will retire in a few years.
