No doubt he was at his best at 160/168. He had about 20 fights at heavyweight but really was on the slide after his 2nd fight with Peter. He should have called it a day but fought on and lost to some guys that he would have beaten easily a few years earlier. I was at his 2nd to last fight. It was a sad sight.

I think Tony “the tank” Musto who fought Joe Louis was listed at 5’7” but looked shorter. He beat Lem Franklin, Jimmy Bivins, Curtis hatchet man shepherd and Lee Savold.

But he competed against guys who were heavyweights, I think. Not the type like Langford, who because heavies, but actual heavies at the time, which was 176 or above...

He fought heavyweight Sandy Ferguson,so at 5 feet 1 inch he is probably the answer.

Mickey Walker I think was 5'7, Sam Langford 5'6, TOMMY Burns 5' 7, James Toney 5'9, Dwight Qwawi was 5'5, Sherman Williams 5'10, Bob Satterfield 5'10, George "Scrap iron" Johnson 5'8 1/2, Orlin Norris 5'9
