B-Hop seems like a rather intelligent guy, but education-wise, that's a different story. Just look at his butchering of the English language.

"Everyone say Trinidad can punch hard. Could it be that these guys he have fought not have good chins?"

"Who I am? Who I am? If you the champ, then who I am?"

DLH, more businessman than fighter. I think Daniel Santos was a teacher.

Maybe I'm being pedantic, but what they earned is not a Ph.D. It's called Candidate of Science, which is roughly equivalent to a Ph.D., so maybe it's a harmless enough claim, but it isn't technically the same thing and it's not the highest degree offered which would be a Doctorate of Science. I would probably be more generous about the term if it were a hard science. A better way to look at it is probably a Masters+.

    Don't make **** up

Vitali has a PHD in Sports Medicine and Philosophy and I'm pretty sure Wladimir had a PHD in Physics.

Making **** up would be saying he had a Ph.D in Physics. They have what's called a Candidate of Science. It's said to be roughly a Ph.D, but when you take into account no Master's degree and it being Sports Science...well, we can argue over terminology if you want. If you want to consider that to be a Ph.D. then there's nothing that I can do about that. Again, it's not the top degree in the former Soviet Union system.

Both graduated in sport sciences and at least in Europe that means they have a PhD. It´s in their official biographies. Wlad additionally studied philosophy but didn´t graduate.

I understand at this point I am being completely pedantic - the degrees are often (though not always) equivalent. It's not a Ph.D - but it's similar. Ph.D's are not offered at Kiev University because that's not how the system in Ukraine works. I was wrong (though I only thought it and didn't say it) earlier when I inferred that they didn't actually have much beyond a BA, but I don't really feel that bad because it's in Physical Education and Sports and not in Philosophy or Physics.

Edit: Are you a native German?

as a current teacher i have had several students that were either exchange students from eastern block nations or just moved from there. i cannot say that thier Iq's are any higher but i would say that they are more aware of life and are usually a little farther along on the logical side, So I would have to say that most euro fighters will be smarter than american.

I think James Bonecrusher smith was the first University graduate to become heavyweight champion of the world...

Gene Tunney always seemed to be that type of feller , kinda introspective character who was almost regal in his approach to boxing.

The Klitschkos are indeed Degree holders of some description..

Audley Harrison has a Degree from Brunel University.. Sports science and Business..
