Who is the top fighter from 1985-present ????

    I was gonna say since 1980 but I wanted to cut out the best yrs of the fab 4 because anytime they are involved, the thread usually loses its purpose with people debating SRL/Hagler decision or Duran`s career in general.

    I have thought long about this & it was really tough but Im finally content with my answer.

    I voted Pernell Whitaker, the man was a genius in his prime & would be a p4p superstar in ANY era... if he was around today we would not be debating who was no1 or indeed waiting for any big fights, he fought Chavez because the fans demanded it to settle who was the best of the era... the way a true legend should.

    I agree with Whitaker. Amazing list though, there really have been some all time great fighters post 85, i think the test of time will show this era to be pretty ****ing good.

    Since it's not based on resume and just the "top" fighter. I would choose between Whitaker or Roy Jones for sure. Leaning a little towards Whitaker tho.

    Yes, Jones was awesome at his best but Whitaker was just masterful, his skills were off the radar at his best, a much better technician than Roy.

    Went with Roy just for the sheer explosive power, speed and general excitement he brought to his fights. Closely followed by Pea.

    Lol @ you for commenting on fighters you have never seen fight.

    How do I now this ?.... because if you HAD seen guys like Whitaker fight, you wouldnt have made such a stupid statement - true story.

    Cmon guys, stop this bs...
    There is only one top10 p4p atg on the list and his name is not Roy "Glass Jaw Hype Job" Jones or Pernell "Weak Resume" Whitaker.
    Seriously, everybody that voted for any guy other than Pacquiao should be banned for levelling/stupidity.

    Otherwise I wouldn't reply.
    Whitaker is a great fighter and he is the clear no.2 on the list but his resume is too weak to be considered above Pac.
    RJJ is just a joke, I won't even comment on that...
